Evinrude 90 HP VRO V4 outboard motor - may need repair
1986 model, 20" transom, power trim & tilt, stainless steel prop.
I have had this motor for a number of years and it has performed faultlessly.
I recently took it in for a service and the mechanic advised that it had a slight knocking noise in the engine, and that one bank of cylinders was running a bit hotter than the other bank. He thinks that the noise may be a gudgeon pin, and that the water pump or thermostat needs attention.
The motor runs well, but rather than investigating further, I decided to purchase a new engine.
Therefore this engine is for sale, with the disclosure that it needs some repair.
The engine is very clean, has been well looked after and has no corrosion.
Overall, it is in remarkably good condition.
All controls, wiring loom, cables and gauges are included.
I am prepared to put the motor on a pallet and arrange shipping at buyers cost, if needed.
